My name is Esha (My real name) aged 23, I experienced my periods when I was 13 years of age, I was in my senior one at a certain school in the village. I had knowledge about periods though I had not experienced them.

It was one morning when the matron woke me up for the morning preps at school and realised that I had experienced my periods for the first time; luckily, I had knowledge about it. Amongst my friends I was the only one who had not experienced my periods and by then they used to call me a baby and it used to make me feel elevated. So, by the time I also joined the race I never wanted anyone to know. But the good thing is that I knew how to place the pad on my knicker, and I was fully prepared for this stage. However, I denied anyone at school a chance to know about my first time periods, though things were not fine, but I tried to stand still just like a rock. My second periods appeared while at home and my aunt was in position to witness my second experience. She had a talk with me and among of which was to know if this was my first time to experience my periods.

In spite of this, being my second time, my aunt never knew that I had experience it before as I never told her the truth that I got one, she took me, and she counted my days and she also counselled me and from that day I never failed insecure.
