Training workshop | Utena-Lithuania | 25.10.2021 | 29.10.2021 |
This training aims at providing empowerment opportunities for staff in partner organisations. It defines empowerment as the ability to perform functions, solve problems, and achieve adult education objectives at the individual, the institutional, and the societal Level. Thus, training learning outcomes will ensure that adult educators’ capacity strengthening in designing, initiating, monitoring, and evaluating community-based programmes for adult learners. This was defined as a sustainable strategy for addressing age segregation and keeping people interested in new learning, especially for older learners who are the primary target of age segregation, who further suffer compounded consequences due to lower skills in the use of new technologies and digital tools, and lack of learning opportunities in media and information literacy.
Hence, the training learning tools will provide partners with information and resources on how to effectively work with this marginalised group. Through sharing best practices, the project’s partners will learn how to work within their organisations along with their colleagues to develop community-based programmes that meet the learning needs and gaps among their targeted groups. Such a collaboration allows adult educators to design and implement sustainable and inclusive educational programmes both at the local and national level. Experience will be taken from ageism across the educational sector and business environment in Utena-Lithuania, and further explore the challenges to the labour market due to the ageing workforce in small towns, and have an overview on the challenges older employees face. |
