The Charter for Change is an initiative that aims to transform the way the humanitarian system operates to enable local and national actors to play an increased and more prominent role in overall humanitarian response.
Thus, the overall goal of the Charter for Change's annual meeting is to take stock on progress and share good practices among signatories and endorsers in promoting localisation efforts and to identify options to address the obstacles to localisation in INGO-NNGO partnerships.
The Charter for Change is one of the more than a dozen initiatives, partnerships, platforms or charters and alliances, which were either newly developed or strengthened through the World Humanitarian Summit which took place in Istanbul on 23-24 May 2016.
All with one goal, to help implement the Core Responsibilities and turn the Agenda for Humanity into reality, to ensure that the needs of persons with disabilities, children and youth, migrants, older persons, and other marginalized people are taken into account in preparedness and response in humanitarian actions. |
