Terram Pacis officially joins The Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction. Members will meet at the 2017 Global Platform; the main forum at the global level for reviewing the progress made in the implementation of international instrument on disaster risk reduction committed to reducing disaster risk and building the resilience of communities and nations.
The GNDR is the international network of organisations committed to working together in improving the lives of people affected by disasters. It was launched in 2007 in the belief that civil society will have a greater impact in strengthening the resilience of vulnerable people by working together to respond to the underlying concern of the civil society organisations, and focus on how to strengthen resilience at the community level.
Spread across more than 129 countries worldwide, the GNDR member organisations share a vision: A world of resilient communities where those vulnerable are able to prepare for, mitigate against, recover from and adapt to hazards and a changing climate. The GNDR operates through a global hub in London, England, and regional hubs, which allow better coordination within regions and development of regional positions.
