The Intergenerational volunteer circles project seeks to build the potential of the local community for lasting and joint activities towards intergenerational cooperation, cross training, and activation of youth and seniors. The project approach is to combine intergenerational and international Polish-Ukrainian exchange of experiences with preservation and promotion of local traditions. So, this goal will be achieved through the following sequential actions.
Preparation of three initiative groups composed of local community leaders: the asset defined in this way will include seniors, young people, and refugees from Ukraine willing to act, and ready to devote both their time and potential to local communities. Leader training: the training will cover formal and legal aspects of volunteering, the organisation of mass events, social journalism, running media-based campaigns, cooperation with local government and NGOs, and raising funds for activities or sponsorship. Joint development of an action strategy for the three Circles: the strategy will include organising and moderating strategic session in the form of a local debate aimed at identifying the key needs for the microregion, the implementation of which will optimally respond to local social needs and ensure the sustainability of the initiative.
Establishment of Volunteer Clubs and volunteering activities: under the care and leadership of leaders. The actions will focus on: building intergenerational bridges through the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and skills as well as pro-integration activities; ecology, including cooperation for planet Earth, eco-education, sustainable development; mutual rapprochement of Polish and Ukrainian cultures, my little homeland: focusing on local cultural and natural heritage; promotion of a healthy lifestyle through exercise and educational activities. |
