Digital Education

Under this programme, we facilitate the innovative use of digital technologies during our training and learning activities. Exploring the use of digital tools and technologies in youth work practice gives youth workers and learners the opportunity to design and participate in a more engaging training-learning process that takes the form of blended learning in our non-formal education.

 Objective

Through blended learning, we aim to combine traditional face-to-face training with digital learning in a seamless, complementary flow of learning. Further, we aim to tackle digital gender gap by empowering marginalised youth and adults in the use, access and the development of digital skills, to address digital discrimination in emerging technologies. Our IT HUB is solving social problems with digital solutions by environmentally-friendly approaches.

 Overall goal

Digital education prepares individuals to be informed and responsible citizens through the study of rights. We aim at raising awareness on the political, civil, social and cultural rights of individuals and groups, including freedom of speech and the responsibilities and social implications that emerge from it; providing not only media and information literacy but also digital literacy support and critical thinking skills that a citizen need to adapt to the today digital world.

 Our approach

To facilitate blended learning, our training programmes are delivered through a web-based training application that gives participants access to the training information, which connects them with broader training material and resources. Here, our training focuses on the analysis of digital-based prejudices, including racism, discrimination, sexism, and homophobia to identify their common cause and understand their underlying assumptions to report and expose them.

 Achieving impact

The long-term results of this programme focus on fostering actions that can be taken to combat and counteract digital-based prejudices. Resources within this programme aim to promote concrete actions and responses to online human rights violations. The actions taken vary, depending on the focus of the project being implemented. However, the main focus remains on empowering youth with digital and media literacy skills to build, strengthen their capacity.
