The project “Thermo-modernisation of eleven selected educational buildings in the capital city of Warsaw” aims to improve the energy performance of school buildings through the implementation of investment tasks leading to lower CO2 emission, reduced energy consumption, upgraded building energy standards, and also increased social awareness. The technical condition and energy consumption at the buildings is considerably higher than the standard values permissible for public utility buildings. The heat loss is caused by poorly-insulated flat roofs, walls, windows and doors.
The project implementation will also address the problem of an unsatisfactory condition of the natural environment resulting, among other things, from poor air quality. Efforts to improve energy performance will produce relatively quick and visible effects such as reducing CO2 emission and energy consumption in school buildings, lowering building maintenance costs and increasing energy safety. Moreover, good practices in the management of school buildings in Norway in the field of energy use and saving will be produced as contribution to a handbook for school employees to improve energy efficiency and proper management of energy consumption in school buildings.
Set of good practices is to contain examples from different cities in Norway, consisting of descriptions with graphics and photos; along with indications of source documents by the partner. Moreover, as the project partner, we are tasked to: (1). prepare substantive graphics and present good practices in management of school buildings in Norway in the field of energy saving and education of users and building managers for schools involved in the project; (2). participate in an online conference on the progress in the implementation of Projects; and (3). participate in a two-day closing events: seminar and press conference with the presentation of activities implemented under the Projects. |
